College football insider Chris Huston (CBSSports.com & HeismanPundit.com) has correctly picked the last 5 Heisman Trophy winners, and he joined JT ‘the Brick’ to explain Johnny Football’s gaudy statistics will earn him the award this year. Here's a brief exchange between the two.
JT ‘the Brick’: I look at statistics and they’re pretty obvious to me. If you have better numbers, you win awards, from the MVP in the NBA and especially baseball. But that’s not always the case with the Heisman Trophy. I look at Johnny Football’s here, better numbers than Cam Newton and Tim Tebow when they won. So to me, you can’t steal the trophy from this kid if he had better numbers in the SEC as a first-timer in the SEC, from two of the conferences recent legends.
Chris Huston: Yeah it’s going to be really hard, I mean Johnny Football had 4600 yards of offense and 43 Touchdowns. Last year, everyone went gaga over RGIII, and he had 4624 yards of offense. So he’s just short of what RGIII did last year. So if it was good enough last years, it’s good enough this year.
