Notes:The Official World Golf Ranking is endorsed by the four Major Championshipsand the six professional tours, which make up the International Federation ofPGA Tours, is issued every Monday following completion of the previous week'stournaments from around the world.

The official events from the sixprofessional tours together with the Canadian, Web.com and European ChallengeTours are all taken into account and points are awarded according to theplayers' finishing positions and are generally related to the strength of thefield based on the number and ranking of the Top-200 World Ranked players andthe Top-30 of the Home Tour players in the respective tournaments (Event"Ratings").

However, the four Major Championships are rated separately toreflect the higher quality of the events together with the PlayersChampionship in the United States.

In addition, the BMW Championship in Europethe Australian, Japan and South African Open Championships and the Flagshipevents on the Asian and Web.com Tours are allocated higher minimum pointslevels to reflect their status.

The World Ranking points for each player areaccumulated over a two year "rolling" period with the points awarded for eachtournament maintained for a 13-week period to place additional emphasis onrecent performances - ranking points are then reduced in equal decrements forthe remaining 91 weeks of the two year Ranking period.

Each player is thenranked according to his average points per tournament, which is determined bydividing his total number of points by the number of tournaments he has playedover that two-year period.

There is a minimum divisor of 40 tournaments overthe two year ranking period.

The winners of the Masters Tournament, the U.S.Open Championship, the Open Championship and the PGA Championship are awarded100 points (60 points for 2nd place, 40 for 3rd, 30 for 4th, down to 1.50points for a player completing the final round) and the winner of the PlayersChampionship is awarded 80 points (points are awarded down to 1.20 points for60th place and ties).

The BMW Championship has a minimum 64 points for thewinner (points to 56th place).

Minimum points levels for the winners ofofficial Tour events have been set at 6 points for the Canadian Tour (pointsto 6th place), 12 points for the European Challenge Tour (points to 14thplace), 14 points for the Asian Sunshine and Web.

Com Tours (points to 17thplace), 16 points for Australasian and Japanese Tours (points to 19th place),and 24 points for European and the United States Tours (points to 27th place). In addition, the Open Championships of Australia, Japan and South Africa havea minimum of 32 points for the winner (points to 37th place) and the Flagshipevents on the Asian and Web.com Tours have a minimum of 20 points for thewinner (points to 22nd place).

In the cases of co-sanctioned Tour events, theminimum points levels are determined using the "average" of the minimum Tourranking points from each Tour (rounded up to nearest whole number).

Points arereduced by 25% for tournaments curtailed to 36 holes because of inclementweather or other reasons.

Notes: Eight of the top 30 players in the world are expected to compete this week atthe Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.

The highest-ranked player in thefield is Matt Kuchar at No.

13.

He is joined by Charl Schwartzel (15), JasonDufner (20), Hunter Mahan (21), Bo Van Pelt (26), Jim Furyk (27), defendingchampion Zach Johnson (29) and Rickie Fowler (30).Kuchar has made 17 straight cuts on the PGA tour dating back to August of lastyear.

He has four top-10 finishes this season, including a victory at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship.

Kuchar also tied for eighth at the Masters.Johnson, the 2010 and 2012 champion, has finished in the top 10 at this eventthe last four years.

He has never missed a cut here in seven appearances, withhis worst finish being a tie for 30th in 2006.Past winners of this event reads like a who's who in golf: Ben Hogan, ArnoldPalmer, Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino, Tom Watson, Ben Crenshaw, Nick Price andPhil Mickelson.Colonial Country Club has hosted since the tournament's inception in 1946.

Noother course has held a U.S.

Open, a Tournament Players Championship and anannual PGA Tour event.

In 1991, Colonial added the U.S.

Women's Open to thatunique repertoire.

This is the second oldest PGA Tour event still being playedat its original site.

The Masters at Augusta National is the oldest.

Thecourse, built originally by John Bredemus and revised slightly by PerryMaxwell for the 1941 Open, has stood the test of time.Last year, Johnson rolled in a 4-foot putt on the final hole to seeminglyclose out a 3-stroke win, but it was quickly pointed out that he never movedhis ball mark back after shifting it out of Dufner's putting line.

Johnson wasgiven a 2-stroke penalty before signing his scorecard and won by one shot overDufner instead of three.

The former Masters champion finished at 12-under 268.Johnson became the 11th player to win this title multiple times.

Hogan is theonly player to win this event more than twice (five times) and is the onlyplayer to win two straight years, which he accomplished twice (1946-47 and1952-53).

Kenny Perry, Price, Billy Casper, Julius Boros, Crenshaw, BruceLietzke, Trevino, Corey Pavin, Mickelson and Johnson are two-time winners.Hogan in 1946 is the only player to win both the Byron Nelson Championship andthe Colonial in the same season. In 2011, David Toms finally notched his 13th PGA Tour win by firing rounds of62-62-74-67.

Toms finished at 15-under 265 to best third-round leader CharlieWi by one stroke.

His last win came at the 2006 Sony Open, and he had postedsix runner-up finishes since then.

He lost in a playoff to K.J.

Choi at thePlayers Championship the week prior to this tournament.

Toms became the firstplayer to lose a playoff one week and win the next event since Mickelson in2000, who completed that feat by winning this tournament.

Toms established anew 36-hole record by shooting two straight rounds of 62 for a total of 124.It equaled the best opening 36-hole score on the PGA Tour since 1970.

PatPerez opened with rounds of 61-63 at the 2009 Bob Hope Classic.Johnson fired a 6-under 64 in the final round to come from behind and win bythree strokes over Brian Davis in 2010.

Johnson finished at 21-under-par 259to set a new tournament scoring record.Tim Herron defeated Richard S.

Johnson in a playoff in 2006.

The victory wasHerron's fourth on the PGA Tour, but his first in 204 events, dating back tothe 1999 Bay Hill Invitational. In 2003, Annika Sorenstam became the first woman in 58 years to play in a PGATour event at the Colonial.

She missed the cut on a sponsor's exemption withrounds of 71-74.Price recorded the greatest comeback in tournament history in 1994.

Trailingthird-round leader Scott Simpson by seven shots, Price carded a final-round 64to tie Simpson and then defeated him in a playoff the following day. With his win in 2001, Sergio Garcia joined five players that collected theirfirst PGA Tour victory at Colonial Country Club: Roberto de Vicenzo (1957),Dave Stockton (1967), Rod Curl (1974), Keith Clearwater (1987) and Ian Baker-Finch (1989).

There have been nine wire-to-wire winners, the last being Baker-Finch in 1989.The PGA Tour travels to Ohio next week for the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, where Tiger Woods captured the 2012 title.05/21 15:37:21 ET
