Notes:The Official World Golf Ranking is endorsed by the four Major Championshipsand the six professional tours, which make up the International Federation ofPGA Tours, is issued every Monday following completion of the previous week'stournaments from around the world.

The official events from the sixprofessional tours together with the Canadian, Web.com and European ChallengeTours are all taken into account and points are awarded according to theplayers' finishing positions and are generally related to the strength of thefield based on the number and ranking of the Top-200 World Ranked players andthe Top-30 of the Home Tour players in the respective tournaments (Event"Ratings").

However, the four Major Championships are rated separately toreflect the higher quality of the events together with the PlayersChampionship in the United States.

In addition, the BMW Championship in Europethe Australian, Japan and South African Open Championships and the Flagshipevents on the Asian and Web.com Tours are allocated higher minimum pointslevels to reflect their status.

The World Ranking points for each player areaccumulated over a two year "rolling" period with the points awarded for eachtournament maintained for a 13-week period to place additional emphasis onrecent performances - ranking points are then reduced in equal decrements forthe remaining 91 weeks of the two year Ranking period.

Each player is thenranked according to his average points per tournament, which is determined bydividing his total number of points by the number of tournaments he has playedover that two-year period.

There is a minimum divisor of 40 tournaments overthe two year ranking period.

The winners of the Masters Tournament, the U.S.Open Championship, the Open Championship and the PGA Championship are awarded100 points (60 points for 2nd place, 40 for 3rd, 30 for 4th, down to 1.50points for a player completing the final round) and the winner of the PlayersChampionship is awarded 80 points (points are awarded down to 1.20 points for60th place and ties).

The BMW Championship has a minimum 64 points for thewinner (points to 56th place).

Minimum points levels for the winners ofofficial Tour events have been set at 6 points for the Canadian Tour (pointsto 6th place), 12 points for the European Challenge Tour (points to 14thplace), 14 points for the Asian Sunshine and Web.

Com Tours (points to 17thplace), 16 points for Australasian and Japanese Tours (points to 19th place),and 24 points for European and the United States Tours (points to 27th place). In addition, the Open Championships of Australia, Japan and South Africa havea minimum of 32 points for the winner (points to 37th place) and the Flagshipevents on the Asian and Web.com Tours have a minimum of 20 points for thewinner (points to 22nd place).

In the cases of co-sanctioned Tour events, theminimum points levels are determined using the "average" of the minimum Tourranking points from each Tour (rounded up to nearest whole number).

Points arereduced by 25% for tournaments curtailed to 36 holes because of inclementweather or other reasons.

Notes: The Volvo World Match Play Championship takes place this week in Bulgaria, as12 of the top 50 players in the world are competing.

The field is led by worldNo.

8 Graeme McDowell.

He is joined by 2011 champion Ian Poulter (15), PeterHanson (23) and Bo Van Pelt (26), who is the only American in the field.McDowell has four top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour this season, including avictory at the RBC Heritage.

This will be his first tournament of the year inEurope. The hottest player in the field is world No.

76 Brett Rumford, who has won hislast two events.

Rumford won the Ballantine's Championship and Volvo ChinaOpen in back-to-back weeks.

This week, he will try to become only the thirdplayer in European Tour history to win three tournaments in a row.

Golflegends Nick Faldo and Seve Ballesteros are the only players to accomplishthis feat. The 24-man field is divided into eight groups of three players, with everyoneplaying two matches and the top two players from each group advancing to thesingle elimination matches on Saturday and Sunday. This year's tournament will be held at Thracian Cliffs Golf & Beach Resort inKavarna, Bulgaria, for the first time.

The last three years were staged atFinca Cortesin in Spain.

This will be the first time that Bulgaria has hosteda European Tour event.

Bulgaria will become the 40th different nation to stagea European Tour event.Last year, Nicolas Colsaerts defeated McDowell, 1-up, in the final.

Colsaertsearned his second European Tour title following his victory at the 2011 ChinaOpen.

Colsaerts became the first Belgian to win twice on the European Tour.In 2011, Poulter rolled in a 6-foot par putt on the 17th hole in the final tobeat Luke Donald, 2 & 1.

Poulter earned his 11th European Tour title.

It wasthe first all-English final in tournament history.Ernie Els defeated Angel Cabrera in 2007, 6 & 4, to win this event for arecord seventh time.

Els previously won in 1994-96, 2002-04.

Els won at theWentworth Club in England, which he helped redesign.

Els has appeared in thechampionship match eight times, losing only to Vijay Singh in the final in1997.In 2006, Paul Casey easily defeated Shaun Micheel to win.

Casey took acommanding lead late in the morning round, kept his foot on the pedal andcruised to a 10 & 8 win in the 36-hole final.

It was the largest winningmargin for a final match in event history.Michael Campbell held off Irishman Paul McGinley, 2 & 1, in the final to winin 2005.

Campbell, who won the U.S.

Open earlier in 2005, became the fourthplayer to win both events in the same year, joining Gary Player (1965), HaleIrwin (1974) and Els (1994).Five-time winners of this event are Ballesteros and Gary Player, while GregNorman and Ian Woosnam are three-time winners.

When Woosnam won in 2001, hebecame the oldest winner in tournament history as he defeated PadraigHarrington.

At the age of 43, Woosnam outlasted Harrington, 2 & 1, as heequaled his own record of seven successive birdies and broke the front-ninescoring record when he shot 28.

Woosnam came back from 3-down to become thefirst player to win the title in three different decades. The European Tour travels to England next week for the BMW PGA Championship atWentworth Club, where Donald has won the last two years.05/15 09:53:56 ET
