The Phillies led 4-3 heading into the ninth, but closer Jonathan Papelbon served up a two-out, two-strike homer to Chad Tracy to tie the game. The offense quickly picked up Papelbon (1-0) in the bottom half, as Ben Revere ripped a leadoff single and moved to third two batters later on Jimmy Rollins' base hit to left. After pinch-hitter Steven Lerud fanned for the second out, Brown looped a 2-2 offering from Fernando Abad (0-2) back up the middle to plate the deciding run. Ryan Howard went 3- for-3 with a solo homer and two RBI, while Delmon Young added a two-run double to help the Phillies snap a two-game slide. Brett Cecil (3-0) recorded the final two outs of the eighth to earn the win and Casey Janssen notched his 15th save of the season. Jorge De La Rosa carried a no-hitter over 5 1/3 innings.
